There are several options for charging. The package includes a kettle plug that provides a 10A input from the mains, allowing the battery to be recharged in 1.7 hours. When I tried charging the battery from empty, it consumed 1.365 kWh in total, or 108% of its capacity. That outperforms the UGreen PowerRoam GS1200 in terms of efficiency.
It is not possible to utilize the Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus as an EPS or UPS because it lacks mains passthrough. Just up to the 2000W output limit, you can charge the Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus while using plugged-in devices.
The Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus has an optional solar input option that allows it to accept up to four 200W solar panels for a total of 800W. I can say one thing about Jackery’s items, and that is their design are simply amazing. Like the Jackery Explorer 1500 Pro, the 1000 Plus has a large lift-up handle on top and is shaped like a cooler.
It is not a light product weighting 19kg but the handle made it comfortable to carry around the, either one or two handed. This power plant certainly gets the portability part right from lifting into the automobile to then out again somewhere else.
It provides a decent amount of power for camping with a 1264Wh battery within the base unit, enough to run laptops and coffee machines, for example, while keeping the battery’s mobility.

The Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus works on the newest battery technology, which is good news for longevity, using LiFePO4 batteries. The Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus is rated to be 70%+ after 4000 cycles, whereas the prior Jackery Explorer 1000 Pro would decline to 80% capacity after 1000 cycles.
In its lifespan, the Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus will have stored around 4297kWh if we assume a linear decline down to 70% capacity and take the battery capacity as it was when new with those 4000 charge cycles. Storing electricity comes out to about 27p per kWh. When compared to many of the competitors, that is incredibly inexpensive. Recall that there is also the cost of the electricity needed to charge the battery, which I have left out of this calculation. This electricity can come from solar power, an off-peak tariff, or a regular power outlet on a regular tariff.
The Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus might still function after those 4000 charge cycles, but with time, its battery capacity will gradually decrease.
