Apple Watch Ultra 2
With its tough titanium casing, increased durability, and sophisticated health tracking features, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is a high-end smartwatch made for explorers and fitness aficionados. Longer outdoor activities and hard exercises are supported by its longer battery life, and its larger, brighter display assures visibility in a variety of settings.

Against
With their ultra-premium design language, features geared at adventure seekers, and exceptional battery life, the Apple Watch Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro launched the high-end smartwatch industry in 2022.
Although there are currently two Apple Watch Ultra variants available in Cupertino, and a third model may be on the horizon, Samsung likely feels that its Galaxy Watch 5 Pro failed to make an impression, so a more straightforward super-premium smartwatch, the new Galaxy Watch Ultra may be required.

DESIGN & SIZE
Galaxy Watch Ultra vs Apple Watch Ultra 2
In terms of design, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is one of the watches that the Galaxy Watch mimics and takes design cues from. As somewhat of a cross between the Apple Watch Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Samsung has its sights set on an unusual design that pairs a circular display with a “squircle” shell.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 on the other hand has a titanium circular case that resembles the design of the Galaxy Watch quite a bit. However, because of the more effective use of available space, you get a lot more screen real estate.
Sapphire crystal guards against scratches on the screen of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the titanium body offers a luxurious, lightweight design. Only one 47mm size is offered by the smartwatch, although the Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a little larger 49mm case.
Between the conventional two buttons, Samsung has added a third. The “Quick Button” is a programmable button that can have different apps or shortcuts mapped to it, much like the Action Button on the Apple Watch Ultra.
Unfortunately, the rotating bezel that made earlier Galaxy watches more identifiable and useful is absent from the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Both the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra are extremely robust gadgets that support up to 10ATM of water resistance and are IP68 dust and water resistant.
Although the Apple Watch Ultra is certified IP6X, which means it lacks official ingress protection, it is nonetheless waterproof and can be used for an extended period of time in up to 100 meters of water for scuba diving activities.
The screen brightness of the Galaxy Watch Ultra is 3,000 nits, the same as that of the Apple Watch Ultra. This improves the legibility significantly in bright daylight, which is wonderful news for people who love the outdoors. Two colors are available for the Galaxy Watch Ultra: Light Gray and Dark Gray. Only one Natural Titanium color option is available for the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

BANDS

Editor’s Choice
With regard to bands, Samsung makes use of the same One-Click watch bands that were introduced with the Galaxy Watch 6 model last year. In contrast to earlier latch mechanisms, the new ones are more user-friendly in that they let you easily remove the band by just pressing one button.
In contrast, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 makes use of the same well-proven band attachment system that Apple has been utilizing for the past ten years. The band of the Apple Watch may be easily unbuckled with a button located on the bottom. Three stock bands are available for the latter: Ocean Band, Alpine Loop, and Trail Loop.
SOFTWARE & FEATURES
Galaxy Watch Ultra vs Apple Watch Ultra 2
Included with the Galaxy Watch Ultra is Google’s soon-to-be Wear OS 5. A brand-new grid-based app launcher is planned and will be optional. Wear OS 5 will allow users to choose their media output device. Watch faces will get yet another set of enhancements, including themes, upgrades to complications, a new source for heart rate data, and more.
On the other hand, watchOS 10 is presently available for the Apple Watch Ultra 2, and watchOS 11 will be released this autumn. A new health-related measure called Vitals will be included in the next software release. It will give you an overview of the trends for your blood oxygen level, heart rate, breathing rate, and amount of sleep that occurred during the course of the previous night.
You can examine the intensity of your exercises and decide how to modify your exercise regimen with the help of a new Training Load measure in the Activity app. You will be able to save your streak if you have to take a break by pausing your activity rings on the Apple Watch for the first time.
Additionally, you have the option to alter your daily activity goals. WatchOS 11 will also include enhanced watch face customisation. With the exception of those software variations, the Galaxy Watch Ultra shares the same assortment of health-related capabilities as the Galaxy Watch 6 generation.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is exclusively compatible with Android smartphones; if you use it with a non-Galaxy phone, your options will be restricted. Moreover, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is only compatible with iPhones.

BATTERY & CHARGING
Galaxy Watch Ultra vs Apple Watch Ultra 2
A sizable 590mAh battery and a brand-new 3nm Exynos SiP (system in package) are included in the Galaxy Watch Ultra. We’ll save our judgment for our final assessment, but the latter will undoubtedly be a more efficient chip than the 5nm Exynos W930 that was used in the Galaxy Watch 6 generation last year.
The good news for prospective customers is that there’s a good chance the Galaxy Watch Ultra will outperform earlier Galaxy smartwatches in terms of battery life thanks to its enormous battery.
A somewhat smaller 564mAh battery and the 4nm Apple S9 SiP are also included with the Apple Watch Ultra 2. In terms of battery longevity, this combination worked incredibly well, providing at least two days of mixed use and even longer with economical use.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra requires the usage of Samsung’s proprietary charger for charging as it does not support standard Qi wireless charging. Conversely, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 requires approximately one and a half hours to fully charge; nevertheless, an hourly charge yields 80% battery life, which is more than sufficient.
VERDICT
Galaxy Watch Ultra vs Apple Watch Ultra 2
Samsung is adamant about competing with Apple Watch Ultra 2 with its next ultra-premium wristwatch. The latter seems certain to equal Cupertino’s best in almost every way.
Even though the Apple Watch Ultra 2 has been around for a while, its success was largely dependent on that of the original model. Even though Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 Pro beat the original Apple Watch Ultra in 2022, the latest model seems to be a major step in the right direction.
Both will be priced in the ultra-premium market that purposely prevents a wider uptake; additionally, the ecosystem lock implies that you wouldn’t think about getting a Galaxy Watch Ultra if you already own an iPhone, or vice versa.
