IOTTIE VELOX PRO MAGSAFE – Overview
The iOttie Velox Pro lacks Apple’s MFM certification, but active cooling and a wide range of settings make it a viable option in the hunt for a dependable MagSafe vehicle charger. iOttie has been producing high-quality automobile mounts and accessories for years, but with its Velox range, the company has shifted focus. Its original, enormously successful OneTouch series is robust, yet utilitarian in appearance. Conversely, the Velox series appears to be iOttie’s luxury range, with fewer plastic, polished metal components, and sumptuous soft-touch finishes. They were also the first to provide MagSafe support. We loved the first Velox car charger, which connected to your car’s vent and charged your phone with up to 7.5W of electricity.
The new Velox Pro looks identical, but it has a suction mount, is much more adjustable, and has a separate USB-C cable. iOttie ships with a charger, an optional plastic mounting plate, a USB-C cable, and a power converter. It’s uncommon to see a power adaptor in the package, so we appreciate iOttie’s addition. We prefer a dual-output vehicle charger, so we didn’t require it, however many people desire the entire bundle when purchasing a car charger. Furthermore, USB-C is less prevalent on automobile adapters, thus many may not have a Type-C version accessible.

Cons

ZEEHOO WIRELESS – Overview
If you are okay with using a no-name brand like ZeeHoo, their ZeeHoo Wireless Car Mount charger includes most of the phone charging features you’re looking for, like auto clamping and a secure suction cup that can be mounted on your car’s air vent, windshield, or dashboard. It has USB-C and up to 15-watt rapid charging for Android phones that enable it. (The maximum charging power for iPhones is 7.5 watts.) This improved version has a more streamlined look than the original (see below) and less than the iOttie. This wireless charger does not include a cigarette lighter converter, only a USB-C cable.
This ZeeHoo Wireless Car Mount charger is one of the more popular generic wireless car chargers with an autosensing telescopic arm, and the first one I tried performed well overall, firmly connecting to my car vent mount and charging my smartphone or QI-enabled device quickly. I liked that the wireless vehicle charger had both a phone mount and an air-vent mount. It’s worth noting that rapid charging requires a power adaptor that supports it (not provided).
Mounting Type: Dashboard,Vent | Dimensions: 4.49 x 2.85 x 2.24 inches | Weight: 11.7 oz

IOTTIE VELOX MINI – Overview
Editor’s Choice
The iOttie Velox Mini is a decent little vehicle charger that magnetically attaches to your iPhone and employs sophisticated cooling to speed up charging. Recently, iOttie began selling an upgraded assortment of its Velox chargers, all of which feature active cooling. So far, there are two models: the Velox Pro, which is adjustable, has a detachable cord, and comes with a power adapter, and the Velox Mini, which is significantly smaller. The Velox Mini lacks a detachable cable, isn’t particularly adjustable, and doesn’t come with a power converter, but it’s reasonably priced and still provides decent charging speeds of 7.5W owing to the aforementioned clever cooling.
iOttie’s Velox Mini does not have an original shape; instead, it is a circle large enough to hold the required MagSafe-compatible magnets. It comes in two colors: astral white and midnight blue. The charger plugs to a regular automobile vent, but like other vent-mounted chargers, it will not suit everyone. Some automobiles’ vents are too tiny or shallow to function properly. A major problem with vent mounting is that the heater may blow during the cold. The increased heat can severely reduce charging speeds. While iOttie still recommends shutting the vent, this is just another reason smart cooling outperforms windshield-mounted chargers.

Pros
- You do not lose any air vents
- Once linked, it will undoubtedly stay that way
- Putting your phone into the holder is a breeze
- The telescoping arm allows for more flexibility than alternative installations
Cons
- Getting the mount off the dash may be a serious effort
- Pretty large and can get in the way when not in use.
- As good as that suction cup is, you still need a place to stick it to.
IOTTIE EASY ONE TOUCH 5 – Overview
The iOttie Easy One Touch 5 inspires confidence in a manner that few other mounts can. That’s all owing to its big suction cup, which we discovered to be outrageously powerful. Once installed, an extensible arm should allow you to position your phone anywhere you choose, bringing it within reach. You can’t adjust the angle of that arm, so make sure everything is pointed in the appropriate way.
This iOttie Easy One Touch 5 mount, like many of the best, keeps your phone rock solid while driving, and inserting the device into the holder is a simple one-handed operation. People with large phones should be OK owing to the three-point mounting mechanism, which can be adjusted as needed.

VICSEED METAL AIR VENT – Overview
The VICSEED Car Phone Mount tester lives in a city where robbers would break into a vehicle to take anything, so he can attest to the mount’s ease of attachment and removal from your car’s vent. It has a double lock air vent clip that firmly secures it into place—our tester remarked that the clamps required some power to open, but this just adds to the stability.
It is made of aviation PTFE and reinforced metal and can survive collisions and high temperatures. And once you’ve adjusted the side clamps to fit your gadget, simply slip it in and it will be secure. However, our tester remarked that the rotation was a little resistant at first, but once configured, it performed perfectly.

Other Car Phone Mounts We Liked
- Loncaster Car Phone Holder: Installation is quick and easy: simply glue it to the dashboard, insert your phone, and you’re done. However, you must maintain your phone horizontal, and the prongs that hold it upright impede the view slightly.
- Scosche MagicMount Pro: Charge is meant for MagSafe-enabled iPhones, but it can also be used with Android smartphones if you attach the supplied MagicPlate to the back of your phone or case.
- Belkin Universal Car Mount: Excellent low-cost window/dash mount. The suction cup function makes it simple to install and remove the mount. The head telescopes for convenient adjusting. However, using the tabs requires two hands.

FAQs: The Best Car Phone Mounts
- Where is the greatest spot to install a vehicle phone mount?
Whether you mount your phone in the car’s vent, on the dashboard, or on the windshield, you must ensure three things: you can see the device, you can easily control the device, and the device does not obstruct your view out the windows and windshield or interfere with any of the car’s controls. Most drivers position their mounts such that the phone is to the left or right of the steering wheel (when using a vent-mounted or dashboard mount) or in the lower sections of the windshield, preserving your ability to drive while keeping the phone visible and easily accessible. - How much should I pay for a vehicle phone mount?
A decent vehicle phone mount costs less than $20, but if you want a super-stylish mount with magnets for easy attachment/detachment, expect to pay a little more. Devices that allow wireless charging while the phone is in the mount cost more. - Do I have to replace the vehicle phone mounts when I change phones?
Almost all automotive phone mounts are intended to accept a variety of phone sizes as well as bulky or streamlined phone covers. Those with broader side arms or cradles will operate with a wider range of phones and other gadgets, so if you intend on getting a new phone regularly (and prefer larger phones), choose the widest-possible mount setup to avoid having to upgrade your car mount every time you get a new smartphone. Those that use magnets to connect the phone to the mount may handle phones of all sizes, but they require a magnetic case (or a phone without a cover) to ensure a secure grip on your smartphone.
